SCRABBLE Cubes
SCRABBLE Cubes is WorldWinner's skill-based version of Hasbro's SCRABBLE. Players select letter tiles on adjacent cube faces to spell words of 3 to 8 letters from a block of 27 letter cubes, scoring each tile's letter value plus a length bonus that runs from 5 points for 4 letters to 100 points for 8. Each cube can be used 3 times before it is removed and reveals the cubes behind it. The highest score inside the time limit wins. Practice is free, and players can compete for cash prizes where available.

How to play SCRABBLE Cubes
- Objective
- WorldWinner states the objective plainly: achieve the highest score possible within the time limit. Points come from spelling valid words with letter tiles on adjacent cube faces. Each word scores its letter values plus a length bonus, and any Double or Triple letter and word bonuses shown on the tiles are applied in real time.
- Setup
- The game begins with 27 letter cubes. WorldWinner's rules describe a Letter Cube as one side of a cube with 3 outward-facing letter tiles, and each tile shows its point value and any double or triple bonus. Selected letters appear in the Letter Tray, and a Word List records every valid and invalid word with its point value. Only words of 3 to 8 letters in the NSWL2020 tournament word list are accepted (Classic mode caps words at 7 letters).
- Controls
- Players select letters from the faces of cubes. Faces must be adjacent at an edge or a corner, either side by side or diagonally, and an individual letter cannot be used more than once in a word. Swiping a cube left or right shows other sides and their letter tiles. Double-tapping a cube removes it from the board instead of playing it. Words are checked against the game dictionary in real time, and invalid words are rejected with no points.
- How a game ends
- The clock at the top of the screen always shows the time remaining, and the game is over when it reaches 0:00. WorldWinner states that there are no time bonuses in SCRABBLE Cubes, so finishing early has no value. In Survival mode the clock starts at 15 seconds and valid words add time.
How SCRABBLE Cubes scoring works
WorldWinner's help center publishes both the letter values and the length bonus table for SCRABBLE Cubes. A word scores the sum of its tile values, adjusted by any Double or Triple letter or word bonus printed on the tiles, plus the length bonus. The rows below follow the published tables. The value printed on each tile in the game is the final reference.
| Action | Points | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| A, E, I, L, N, O, R, S, T, U | 1 point each | |
| D, G | 2 points each | |
| B, C, M, P | 3 points each | |
| F, H, V, W, Y | 4 points each | |
| K | 5 points | |
| J, X | 8 points each | |
| Q | 10 points | |
| Z | Listed as 19 in WorldWinner's table | Classic SCRABBLE values Z at 10, so the help-center figure may be a typo. Check the value printed on the Z tile in the game. |
| Length bonus: 3-letter word | 0 points | |
| Length bonus: 4-letter word | 5 points | |
| Length bonus: 5-letter word | 10 points | |
| Length bonus: 6-letter word | 25 points | |
| Length bonus: 7-letter word | 50 points | |
| Length bonus: 8-letter word | 100 points | Not reachable in Classic mode, where the word maximum is 7 letters. |
| Double or Triple letter and word tiles | Shown on the tile and applied in real time | WorldWinner does not publish where these tiles appear; the bonus is printed directly on the tile. |
| Invalid word | 0 points, no penalty | WorldWinner notes that an invalid word costs only time on the clock. |
| Time remaining | No bonus | WorldWinner states there are no time bonuses in SCRABBLE Cubes. |
Worked scoring example
Take the word QUIET on plain tiles with no Double or Triple bonuses. The letters score 10 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 14, and the 5-letter length bonus adds 10, for 24 points. QUIT from the same region would score 13 for the letters plus the 4-letter bonus of 5, for 18. A 3-letter word gets no length bonus at all. The jump is steepest at the top of the table: a 6-letter word adds 25, a 7-letter word adds 50, and an 8-letter word adds 100, which is more than most words score from their letters.
Skill and fairness
WorldWinner's help center states that all players within the same tournament are provided with the same starting hand, board layout, or cards, and that larger formats such as Fixed Prize Unlimited Entry may use different starting layouts of similar scoring potential. A player who enters the same tournament more than once receives a layout of similar scoring potential rather than the same one.
The length bonus table drives most decisions. Because the bonus rises from 5 points at 4 letters to 100 points at 8 letters, vocabulary in the 6 to 8 letter range is worth far more than a stream of 3-letter words, which earn no length bonus.
Cube management is the second skill. Each cube can be used 3 times, its edges turn red after the second use, and the third use removes it, revealing the cubes behind it and dropping any cubes above it. Players decide when to spend a cube's last use and when to double-tap a cube away to reach better letters.
According to WorldWinner, opponents are matched by a per-game skill rating, and WorldWinner states that players never face bots. Word validity is fixed by the NSWL2020 tournament word list, so the dictionary is the same for every entrant.
No result is guaranteed. Cash tournament availability varies by location, device, and account, and eligibility is checked before any paid entry. Practice games carry no entry fee.
Expert tips for SCRABBLE Cubes
- Aim for the top of the length bonus table. The published bonuses are 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100 points for words of 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 letters. One 7-letter word adds as much bonus as ten 4-letter words, so time spent extending a word is usually well spent.
- Skip 3-letter words unless they serve a purpose. A 3-letter word earns no length bonus and still spends one of the 3 uses on every cube it touches. It makes sense mainly to cash a high-value letter or to remove a cube that blocks better letters.
- Route words through the bonus tiles. WorldWinner's rules note that Double and Triple letter and word bonuses are printed on the tiles and added to the score in real time. A Double or Triple word tile multiplies a long word, so it is worth holding for the longest word available.
- Count cube uses before playing. Red edges mean a cube has been used twice and its next use removes it. Spending that last use on a strong word is ideal; spending it on a weak word throws away the letters on that face.
- Plan for what a removed cube reveals. When a cube is removed, the cubes behind it become visible and any cubes directly above it fall down. Adjacency changes after every removal, so a word that was not possible a moment ago may now connect.
- Double-tap dead cubes away. WorldWinner's rules allow a double-tap to remove a cube instead of playing it. Clearing a cube full of awkward letters can open a better face without wasting clock on low-value words.
- Look at the other sides. Swiping a cube left or right shows other sides and their letter tiles, and Rotate mode turns the whole block through 360 degrees. Letters on the hidden sides are part of the available pool.
- Use every second. There is no time bonus in SCRABBLE Cubes, so the only thing the clock offers is more words. Invalid words carry no score penalty, but each one burns time, which makes accuracy worth more than guessing.
- Check doubtful words during practice. Only NSWL2020 words count. WorldWinner links to the NASPA challenge tool, with a reminder to choose NSWL2020 from the Lexicon menu, which is a quick way to confirm unusual words before a paid round.

SCRABBLE Cubes questions, answered
- How does SCRABBLE Cubes work on WorldWinner?
- Players spell words of 3 to 8 letters by selecting letter tiles on adjacent cube faces from a block of 27 letter cubes. Each cube can be used 3 times, then it is removed and reveals the cubes behind it. The goal is the highest score within the time limit.
- How is SCRABBLE Cubes scored?
- A word scores the sum of its tile values plus a length bonus: 0 for 3 letters, 5 for 4, 10 for 5, 25 for 6, 50 for 7, and 100 for 8. Double and Triple letter and word bonuses printed on the tiles are applied in real time. There is no time bonus and no penalty for invalid words.
- What are the letter values in SCRABBLE Cubes?
- WorldWinner's table lists A, E, I, L, N, O, R, S, T, and U at 1 point, D and G at 2, B, C, M, and P at 3, F, H, V, W, and Y at 4, K at 5, J and X at 8, and Q at 10. The table lists Z at 19, which differs from the classic value of 10, so the value printed on the tile in the game is the one to trust.
- Can you play SCRABBLE Cubes for real money?
- WorldWinner runs SCRABBLE Cubes as a skill tournament in which players can compete for cash prizes where available. Cash play varies by location, device, and account, and winnings are never guaranteed.
- Is SCRABBLE Cubes free to play?
- Yes, practice games (WorldWinner calls them Warm-Up tournaments) have no entry fee. WorldWinner's rules note that players who have not made a deposit are limited to 25 Warm-Up entries per calendar day and 600 per calendar quarter in this title, under its agreement with the game distributor.
- What words are allowed in SCRABBLE Cubes?
- Only words in the NSWL2020 tournament word list are allowed, and words must be 3 to 8 letters long (up to 7 in Classic mode). WorldWinner links to the NASPA challenge tool so players can check a word, with NSWL2020 selected in the Lexicon menu.
- What game modes does SCRABBLE Cubes have?
- WorldWinner lists four: Classic (standard rules, words up to 7 letters), Rotate (the block turns 360 degrees), Survival (the clock starts at 15 seconds and valid words add time), and 1-Life Cube (each cube has 1 life instead of 3). Rotate, Survival, and 1-Life Cube allow words up to 8 letters.
- Does every player get the same cubes?
- WorldWinner's help center states that all players within the same tournament receive the same starting board layout. It adds that larger tournaments such as Fixed Prize Unlimited Entry may use different layouts of similar scoring potential.
- How is SCRABBLE Cubes different from classic SCRABBLE?
- There is no board, rack, or turn-taking. Players build words from adjacent letter tiles on a block of cubes against a clock, with SCRABBLE-style letter values, length bonuses, and cubes that disappear after 3 uses.
- Are there cheats for SCRABBLE Cubes?
- No legitimate cheats exist, and WorldWinner bans multi-accounting and collusion. The practical edge is vocabulary: learning longer NSWL2020 words in free practice games, because the length bonus rewards 6 to 8 letter words heavily.
